God’s Timing - Part 2

In life are you one who wants things now, not later? When things don't happen as planned, do you ask God why? Most of us need to grow in the area of trusting God instead of focusing on the “when question.” Do you feel joy and peace or is your mind feeling worn out because you have trouble letting go and trusting God?

I believe that wanting to know everything can cause you some harm in your Christian walk with the Lord. The reason for this is because we would be lacking faith in God, who is trying to teach us patience. We need to learn to trust the One who knows all things and accept that some questions may never be answered. What does patience even mean? Patience is a translation for endurance. When you’re depending on God patiently, that means you are persevering through difficult times. In the Bible, patience is perseverance toward a goal, enduring trials, or expectantly waiting for a promise to be filled. Colossians 1:11 tells us that we are strengthened by Him to “great endurance and patience.” James 1:3-4 says, “knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” Our patience grows and strengthens by resting in God's perfect will and timing, even in the difficult times. In life we have accepted that we are going to have to wait on things. Changes are occurring all the time but we rarely want to go through the waiting time. So if we know changes are coming and waiting is inevitable, are we going to wait the right way? If we wait the wrong way we will be miserable but if we decide to wait God's way, we can become patient and enjoy the wait. You will have joy knowing you have trusted God, and your faith in Him will grow stronger for other things that will come your way.

We need to learn to accept God's timing since we know that God only wants what is best for us. God gives us hopes and dreams in our lives, but He doesn't allow us to always see His plan. We know that God's plan for our lives is good and when we entrust ourselves to Him, we can experience total peace and happiness.

God bless,
E.
