Lottie Moon was an American missionary who shared the love of Jesus with the people of China for over 40 years. During her ministry, Lottie recognized the need for more missionaries in the international mission field. She wrote letters to Southern Baptists urging them to begin a "Christmas offering" with the intent of raising money to send more missionaries abroad. Her idea was carried out beginning in 1888. After her death, Southern Baptists changed the name of the Christmas offering to the "Lottie Moon Christmas Offering".
Today, Southern Baptists across the United States give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering during the month of December. By pulling our resources together, missionaries are able to "go and tell" of the beautiful, redeeming love of Jesus Christ.
Christmas IS the season of giving. No amount is too small. There are currently 2.8 BILLION people in the world with little to no access to the gospel! Imagine the eternal impact your financial gift will make for those who need to hear about the hope and love of our Savior. Please consider giving to Lottie Moon Christmas Offering this season and be a part of something that is bigger than each of us!
