About

Troy DeFeo is a native resident of Garland, TX. As a Junior in High School, Troy was introduced to a ministry called Young Life. During a weekend retreat with Young Life at Pine Cove Ranch in 1989, Troy truly began to understand the message of Jesus, experienced a life-changing message, and felt a calling in his life to sharing this message with others.

Troy graduated from Texas Tech University in 1995 with a Family Studies Counseling and Substance Abuse Addiction degree. Troy has been on staff at Living Hope Baptist Church since 1998, with most of his early years serving in student ministry. From 2007 to 2023, Troy worked for Garland ISD as an educator while serving on staff at Living Hope. Pastor Troy has been recognized as an award-winning educator by Governor Abbott, Senator Bob Hall, Junior Achievement of Dallas, Garland Power and Light, and Garland ISD.

Troy is married to Jaime DeFeo, who is also a five-time award-winning educator for Garland ISD. Jaime teaches Kindergarten and is a praise team member who enjoys singing and worshiping the Lord. Troy and Jaime have two adult children in college, Cami and Pearce.

Troy has served as the Pastor of Living Hope since July 2014. He enjoys pastoring, counseling and writing. Troy is the author of three books: One Day- 100 Day Devotional, Kruptos Hamartia-Sacred Sins, and Leaving Your Harbor for Heaven. Troy has written many marriage seminar curriculums, The Missing 18 Years of Jesus, and is working on his fourth book, The Unveiling- a study on the book of Revelation.

Troy is also the founder of, One Day Ministries, where he assists people with Wills and POAs, implements funeral plans, helps with financial budgets, and counsels those struggling with grief and depression.

Some of Troy’s favorite things are: Traveling to the mountains with his family, going to the movies, writing, studying biblical commentaries and ancient biblical archeology, and drinking coffee with friends.
